Oquilia Data Audit
India’s official data, checked
The government publishes enormous spreadsheets, and almost no one reads them closely. We do. We report what India’s own numbers show, where they do not add up, and where they are done well. Every finding is about data, not about a person, and the same tests run on every ministry and every state.

CSR money by state: Maharashtra got Rs 6,066 crore, Uttar Pradesh Rs 1,545 crore

India had 10,22,386 government schools in 2021-22 and 10,05,245 in 2025-26. Asked for closures and mergers, the Education Ministry gave Parliament only net counts, which hide how many schools actually shut.

The Ministry of Rural Development's own figures, given to Parliament in July 2026, show 5,20,24,413 job cards deleted from January 2021. Of the reasons, it has counted only one: cards deleted as fake, roughly 3 per cent of deletions.
