The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet against Geotech Promoters Pvt Ltd and its promoter-director over the housing project "Geotech Blessings" in Sector 1, Greater Noida (West), Uttar Pradesh. The CBI announced the filing on 28 October 2026, calling it its 22nd chargesheet in the homebuyer cases it is investigating.
What Happened
According to the CBI, its investigation found that the builder company and its promoter-director allegedly induced homebuyers through false assurances and fraudulent representations, and obtained financial benefits by illegal and deceptive means. The project stands on Plot No. GH-16A, Sector 1, Greater Noida (West), in Gautam Buddha Nagar district.
The CBI said the chargesheet has been filed before the competent court under provisions of the Indian Penal Code dealing with criminal conspiracy, cheating and criminal breach of trust. A chargesheet is the agency's formal case placed before the court after investigation; the court then decides whether to frame charges and proceed to trial.
The agency said it is investigating 30 other cases registered on the directions of the Supreme Court against various builder companies and unknown officials of financial institutions across the country, involving alleged cheating of homebuyers and diversion of funds.
In the same series, the CBI said it has so far filed 21 chargesheets against other builders, among them Jaypee Infratech Ltd, Ajnara India Ltd, Earthcon Universal Infratech Pvt Ltd, Ozone Urbana Infra Developers Pvt Ltd and Acme Realities Private Ltd, as well as against officials of certain banks and financial institutions.
These are allegations, not findings of guilt; the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court, and due process continues.
What It Means
For buyers in Geotech Blessings, the case now moves to the court, which will examine the CBI's evidence. A criminal case does not by itself return money or deliver flats; that depends on the outcome of the trial and on any separate proceedings. Homebuyers in delayed projects can also approach the real estate regulatory authority of their state, and can register consumer complaints through the National Consumer Helpline (1915) or e-Daakhil.
