Zydus Lifesciences Limited said in a filing with the National Stock Exchange on 4 November 2026 that its standalone net profit for the quarter ended 30 September 2026 (Q2 FY27) was Rs 714.5 crore, down 38.2% from Rs 1,156.6 crore a year earlier. Standalone revenue from operations rose 21.3% to Rs 3,482 crore.
The company's board approved the unaudited results at a meeting held on 4 November 2026. The figures below are standalone, meaning they cover the parent company alone. The company also filed consolidated results, but that table could not be read reliably in the text of the filing, so this report does not use it.
What Happened
According to the company's filing with the National Stock Exchange, standalone revenue from operations was Rs 3,482 crore in the September 2026 quarter. That is up 21.3% from Rs 2,871.2 crore in the same quarter a year earlier and up 21.2% from Rs 2,872.2 crore in the previous quarter.
Standalone net profit for the period was Rs 714.5 crore. That compares with Rs 1,156.6 crore a year earlier, a fall of 38.2%, and with Rs 339.6 crore in the previous quarter, a rise of 110.4%. Basic and diluted earnings per share were Rs 7.15, against Rs 11.49 a year earlier and Rs 3.38 in the previous quarter.
For the half year ended 30 September 2026, standalone net profit was Rs 1,054.1 crore, down 31.6% from Rs 1,541.3 crore in the first half of the previous year. Standalone revenue from operations for the half year was Rs 6,354.2 crore, against Rs 5,459.5 crore.
The filing shows total income of Rs 3,646.6 crore in the quarter, against Rs 3,412.7 crore a year earlier. Other income was Rs 164.6 crore, compared with Rs 541.5 crore a year earlier. A note in the filing says other income included dividend from subsidiaries and joint ventures of Rs 22 crore in the quarter, against Rs 419.8 crore in the September 2025 quarter.
The filing records a net exceptional item of Rs 1.9 crore in the quarter. It comprises a provision of Rs 37.3 crore for damage to certain assets at manufacturing facilities in Ahmedabad caused by torrential rains in July 2026, offset by Rs 35.4 crore of insurance claim receivables. The company says it has lodged insurance claims for an estimated loss of Rs 37.3 crore and has adequate insurance coverage.
The filing also notes that the company completed the acquisition of the API business of Sterling Biotech Limited on 2 November 2026. The results carry a limited review report from the statutory auditors, Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP, which says nothing came to its attention suggesting that the statement contains any material misstatement. A limited review is less in scope than an audit, and the auditor does not express an audit opinion.
What It Means
These are the company's own unaudited numbers. The sharp fall in standalone profit compared with a year earlier sits alongside higher revenue, and the filing's notes point to two differences: far lower dividend income from subsidiaries this quarter and a small exceptional item linked to the rain damage.
The standalone figures do not show the whole group. Readers who want the group position should look at the consolidated statement the company has published on its website, www.zyduslife.com, and on the National Stock Exchange and BSE websites.
The trading window for directors and designated persons stays closed until 6 November 2026 and reopens on 9 November 2026, the filing says. Oquilia reports the filing as released and does not forecast results or give investment advice.
