The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) said it arrested two officials of the PMKSY 2.0 Bhagirathipet Project in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district on 22 October 2026. According to the ACB, the two allegedly demanded bribes from a contractor to process bills and allot further works. The ACB said Rs 39.17 lakh was allegedly transferred to accounts named by the officials.

What Happened

According to the ACB's press note, a case was registered on 14 October 2026 by ACB Warangal Range against Satish Reddy, Project Officer, PMKSY 2.0, Bhagirathipet Project, and Raju, Technical Officer, PMKSY 2.0, Bhagirathipet Project.

The complainant, a contractor, alleged that the officers demanded illegal gratification of 10% to 25% of the bill amounts for works under the PMKSY 2.0 scheme, the ACB said. The complainant also alleged that the officers threatened that pending bills would not be processed and further works would not be allotted unless the amounts were paid.

According to the complaint and the ACB's verification, an aggregate of Rs 39.17 lakh was transferred to various bank and UPI accounts allegedly communicated by the officers. The ACB said the complainant furnished bank statements and WhatsApp chat records. The ACB also said the project officer allegedly demanded a further 25% of the amount relating to the seventh bill.

The case was registered under Sections 7(a), 7(b) and 13(1)(b) read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as amended in 2018, after authorisation by the competent authority, the ACB said. Both officials are being produced before the Special Court for SPE and ACB Cases, Warangal, for judicial remand, and further investigation is in progress.
