Suzlon Energy Limited reported consolidated net profit of Rs 394.15 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2026 (Q2 FY27), according to its filing with the National Stock Exchange. That is 69.2% lower than the Rs 1,279.44 crore a year earlier and 29.1% higher than the previous quarter. Revenue from operations rose 26.0% from a year earlier.

What Happened

The company said in the filing that its board approved the unaudited standalone and consolidated results for the quarter and half year ended 30 September 2026 at a meeting on 29 October 2026. The figures below are consolidated.

  • Revenue from operations: Rs 4,869.05 crore, up 26.0% from Rs 3,865.54 crore a year earlier and up 27.5% from Rs 3,819.36 crore in the quarter ended 30 June 2026.
  • Net profit: Rs 394.15 crore, down 69.2% from Rs 1,279.44 crore a year earlier and up 29.1% from Rs 305.22 crore in the previous quarter.
  • Profit before tax: Rs 518.21 crore, down 7.9% from Rs 562.50 crore a year earlier.
  • Deferred tax: a charge of Rs 118.53 crore, against a credit of Rs 718.18 crore in the same quarter a year earlier.

The filing's table shows that the year-earlier profit after tax included that deferred tax credit of Rs 718.18 crore. Total expenses were Rs 4,389.83 crore, against Rs 3,334.83 crore a year earlier.

For the half year ended 30 September 2026, revenue from operations was Rs 8,688.41 crore, up 24.4% from Rs 6,982.87 crore a year earlier. Net profit for the half year was Rs 699.37 crore, down 56.4% from Rs 1,603.76 crore.

By segment, the filing shows Renewable Energy Solutions revenue of Rs 4,211.56 crore for the quarter, against Rs 3,240.56 crore a year earlier.

The same filing says the board also approved the acquisition of 100% of Suzlon Foundation Limited, a company with 1,00,000 equity shares, for Rs 10 lakh, and an investment of up to Rs 1 crore in OE Business Park Private Limited, which would become a subsidiary after the investment.

What It Means

For shareholders, the filing shows that revenue and profit both rose from the April-June quarter. The fall in profit from a year ago is mainly in the tax line: profit before tax fell 7.9%, while the year-earlier quarter carried a large deferred tax credit.

A note to the results records that the Securities and Exchange Board of India, by an order dated 29 May 2026, imposed a penalty of Rs 15.95 crore on the company over certain transactions with its domestic subsidiaries and the disclosure of contingent liabilities for FY 2013-14 to FY 2017-18. The company said the Securities Appellate Tribunal has admitted its appeal and stayed the order, with the next hearing on 28 January 2027, and that it expects no impact on these results.

The results are unaudited and were subject to a limited review by the company's statutory auditors.
