SPR Auto Technologies Limited, formerly Shriram Pistons & Rings Limited, reported consolidated profit after tax of Rs 162.3 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2026 (Q2 FY27), up 14.2% from Rs 142.1 crore a year earlier. Consolidated total income was Rs 1,674.6 crore, up 60.6% year on year (YoY). The company gave the unaudited figures in a press release filed with the National Stock Exchange on 31 October 2026.
What Happened
In its filing with the National Stock Exchange, the maker of pistons, piston rings and engine valves reported results for the quarter and half year ended 30 September 2026. The filing gives total income rather than revenue from operations, and profit after tax rather than a line attributable to owners.
On a consolidated basis, total income rose 60.6% YoY to Rs 1,674.6 crore from Rs 1,042.7 crore. Subtracting the quarter from the filing's half-year figure of Rs 3,173.8 crore gives Rs 1,499.2 crore for the previous quarter (Q1 FY27), so total income rose 11.7% quarter on quarter (QoQ). Profit after tax rose 14.2% YoY to Rs 162.3 crore from Rs 142.1 crore. The half-year figure of Rs 310.0 crore implies Rs 147.7 crore in the previous quarter, so profit rose 9.9% QoQ.
EBITDA, including other income, rose 28.6% YoY to Rs 300.4 crore from Rs 233.5 crore, while the EBITDA margin fell to 17.9% from 22.4%. Profit before tax rose 10.7% to Rs 212.9 crore from Rs 192.4 crore. The company said margins were affected by rising commodity costs, a shift in sales mix, a revision in minimum wages and higher finance costs of Rs 23.4 crore linked to its acquisition of three Indian entities of Antolin.
For the half year, consolidated total income was Rs 3,173.8 crore, up 56.0% from Rs 2,034.4 crore, and profit after tax was Rs 310.0 crore, up 11.9% from Rs 277.0 crore.
On a standalone basis, total income rose 16.9% YoY to Rs 1,050.0 crore from Rs 897.9 crore, but profit after tax fell 11.2% to Rs 118.9 crore from Rs 133.9 crore. The company also said it completed a qualified institutional placement during the quarter, raising Rs 1,000 crore.
What It Means
The consolidated numbers cover the parent and its subsidiaries, including the businesses it has bought, so they are larger than the standalone numbers for the parent company alone. In this quarter the two sets moved in different directions: consolidated profit rose, while standalone profit fell. The filing does not give a split of profit by subsidiary.
