Reliance Industries Ltd reported consolidated profit after tax of Rs 29,550 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2026 (Q2 FY27), up 33.8% from Rs 22,092 crore a year earlier and up 27.4% from Rs 23,196 crore in the previous quarter. Gross revenue rose 27.8% year on year to Rs 3,62,268 crore. The board approved the unaudited results on 30 October 2026, according to the company's filing with the National Stock Exchange.

What Happened

The profit figure is profit after tax including the share of profit of associates and joint ventures, as the company reports it. Gross revenue rose 6.5% from Rs 3,40,257 crore in the April-June quarter. EBITDA, or earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation, rose 23.9% year on year to Rs 62,409 crore. Finance costs rose 24.2% to Rs 8,481 crore.

For the half year to September 2026, consolidated profit was Rs 52,746 crore, against Rs 52,875 crore a year earlier, when other income included Rs 8,924 crore of profit from the sale of listed investments, according to the filing. On a standalone basis, covering the parent company alone, quarterly profit after tax rose 68.2% to Rs 15,354 crore from Rs 9,129 crore a year earlier.

Among the businesses, the company's media release says oil-to-chemicals revenue rose 44.2% year on year, which it linked to a sharp increase in crude and product prices. Jio Platforms reported quarterly profit of Rs 8,387 crore, up 13.7%. Reliance Retail Ventures' revenue grew 6.4% to Rs 91,716 crore, while its EBITDA before a one-time impairment charge fell 8.6% to Rs 6,228 crore; the company attributed this partly to the festive season shifting to the next quarter. The release also says Jio Platforms completed its initial public offering of Rs 30,188 crore on 28 October 2026.

The board also passed an enabling resolution allowing the company to issue listed non-convertible debentures, a form of borrowing, of up to Rs 15,000 crore on private placement, in one or more tranches.

What It Means

For shareholders, the filing records higher segment earnings before interest and tax in both oil-to-chemicals and digital services against the same quarter last year. The results are unaudited and were reviewed by the statutory auditors. Outstanding debt stood at Rs 3,84,952 crore at the end of September 2026, against cash and cash equivalents of Rs 2,67,812 crore, according to the release.
