Brajesh, constable 210, and Ishwar Singh, constable 333, both posted with the DST team of Khairthal-Tijara district, were arrested by Rajasthan's Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on 23 October 2026 while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from a complainant, according to an ACB press note. The ACB said the bribe money was recovered from them.

What Happened

According to the ACB, the complainant reported that members of the Khairthal-Tijara DST team came to the complainant's factory in plain clothes, had cameras in the factory removed, and called in a food department team after alleging that the complainant made fake kalakand. The food team took samples of the goods.

The complainant alleged that Brajesh then demanded Rs 1 lakh within a day or two in return for not having the factory's goods destroyed and the factory sealed. Ishwar Singh, the complainant alleged, told other people known to the complainant to bring Rs 50,000 each to the DST office and threatened action against their businesses if they did not.

The ACB said its verification of the complaint clearly established a total demand of Rs 2.2 lakh for not acting against the firms of the complainant and co-complainants and not destroying their goods. The ACB's Alwar-I unit then laid a trap and, it said, caught the two constables taking Rs 2 lakh. Questioning is under way, and the ACB said it will register a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and investigate further.

These are allegations, not findings of guilt; the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court, and due process continues.

What It Means

The case shows how a bribe demand can come with a threat of raids, sealing or destruction of goods against a small business. The ACB also says that anyone against whom it registers a case can approach the bureau directly to give their side, and that it decides on the investigation only after examining that explanation.

To report a bribe demand in Rajasthan, the ACB lists its toll-free number 1064 and WhatsApp helpline 94135-02834, available round the clock. Oquilia's guide to every state's anti-corruption helpline is at https://www.oquilia.com/report-a-bribe.
