Max Healthcare Institute Limited reported consolidated profit attributable to its owners of Rs 414.94 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2026 (Q2 FY27), down 15.5% from Rs 491.30 crore a year earlier, according to its filing with the National Stock Exchange. Revenue from operations rose 20.3% to Rs 2,569.21 crore.

What Happened

The company's board approved the unaudited standalone and consolidated results on 30 October 2026. The statutory auditors gave an unmodified limited review report on them.

On a consolidated basis, revenue from operations was Rs 2,569.21 crore, against Rs 2,135.47 crore in Q2 FY26 (up 20.3%) and Rs 2,366.17 crore in the quarter ended 30 June 2026 (up 8.6%).

Profit before tax was Rs 540.92 crore, against Rs 446.03 crore a year earlier, a rise of 21.3%. Profit attributable to owners fell 15.5% year on year because the year-ago quarter's tax line was a net credit: the filing shows a current tax charge of Rs 10.29 crore and a deferred tax credit of Rs 55.56 crore in Q2 FY26, whereas Q2 FY27 carried total tax of Rs 126.47 crore. Against the June 2026 quarter, profit attributable to owners rose 28.7% from Rs 322.49 crore.

For the first half of the year, revenue from operations was Rs 4,935.38 crore, against Rs 4,163.04 crore a year earlier. Profit attributable to owners was Rs 737.43 crore, against Rs 799.27 crore. Basic earnings per share for the quarter were Rs 4.26, against Rs 5.05.

The board also took several other decisions, as disclosed in the same filing:

  • It approved capital spending of about Rs 93 crore on redevelopment and added clinical capacity at its Sector-128 hospital in Noida.
  • It approved about Rs 97 crore to build additional floors at its Vaishali hospital.
  • It revised the cost of the proposed hospital of about 525 beds in Sector 56, Gurugram, to about Rs 1,143 crore, and moved the completion date to April 2027. The company attributes the higher cost to changes in facade specifications, additional construction requirements, development of the atrium and enhanced interior fit-outs.

What It Means

The filing shows hospital revenue growing faster than profit after tax this quarter, mainly because of the tax effect in the year-ago quarter. The company has not changed the other aspects of the Gurugram project.

These figures are unaudited. The full results are on the company's website and on the National Stock Exchange.
