Asian Paints said in a filing with the National Stock Exchange on 29 October 2026 that its standalone net profit for the quarter ended 30 September 2026 (Q2 FY27) rose 14.6% to Rs 1,095.6 crore from Rs 956.3 crore a year earlier. Its board also declared an interim dividend of Rs 5.75 per share.

What Happened

On a standalone basis, the company reported revenue from operations of Rs 8,453.8 crore. That is 14.9% higher than the Rs 7,356.3 crore of the same quarter last year (YoY), but 7.9% lower than the Rs 9,183.4 crore of the previous quarter, April to June 2026 (QoQ).

Standalone net profit, the profit for the period, was Rs 1,095.6 crore. That is up 14.6% YoY and down 25.9% QoQ from Rs 1,478.4 crore. Profit before tax was Rs 1,468.1 crore. Basic earnings per share were Rs 11.43, against Rs 9.98 a year earlier and Rs 15.42 in the previous quarter.

For the group, the company's press release, enclosed with the filing, says consolidated net sales rose 16.9% to Rs 9,953.9 crore from Rs 8,513.7 crore. Consolidated net profit after minority interest rose 7.5% to Rs 1,067.6 crore from Rs 993.6 crore. For the six months to 30 September 2026, consolidated net profit after minority interest rose 24.5% to Rs 2,606.9 crore from Rs 2,093.4 crore. The consolidated quarter-on-quarter comparison is not given here because the figures read for this report do not include the consolidated previous-quarter column.

The company said its consolidated operating profit margin (PBDIT) fell to 15.6% from 17.7% a year earlier. In the release, it said the operating environment was marked by "sharp raw material inflation and material availability constraints", and that it is taking a further round of staggered price increases in its decorative paints business.

The board approved an interim dividend of Rs 5.75 per equity share of face value Re 1 for the financial year ending 31 March 2027. The record date is 4 November 2026, and the dividend will be paid on or after 13 November 2026. The standalone results are audited; the consolidated results are unaudited and carry an auditor's limited review report.

What It Means

For shareholders, the dividend goes to those whose names are on the company's records on 4 November 2026. At Rs 5.75 per share, a holder of 100 shares would receive Rs 575 before any tax.

For paint buyers, the company has said it is raising prices again in its decorative business, citing higher raw material costs. The company's filing does not say by how much.
